Win an Orient Automatic Watch

By  |

It’s been a while since we have given anything away to you lovely readers of our blog. Giveaways have to be one of my favorite things to do as a blog owner. It’s our chance to repay you, our readers for your readership, loyalty, feedback, and patience with Daniel as his journey to slackerdom continues forth.

Recently I was contacted by Orient Watch Ltd. Who is out and about celebrating their 60th anniversary. Because of this celebration Orient wanted to give back to those who have made their watches such a big success. In doing so, Orient and Casas Fumando have teamed up to give you readers to opportunity to snag one of their newest watches free of charge!

Before getting into the contest rules, let me give you a little more information on the watch. The watch pictures is actually the one that Orient will be giving away. The CEM5J006U is a water resistant, automatic watch with a stainless steel case, and a easily removed screw caseback valued at a MSRP of $135.00. If you do not know how Automatic watches work, its simple, and pretty damn amazing. Instead of having a battery or a winder an Automatic watch actually charges itself with motion. Just the act of wearing this on your arm while you go for a walk actually charges the watch itself. Pretty cool stuff.

If you are a watch fan like me, you may want to check out a few more of Orient’s offering. The CVFAA002B is one that caught my attention. I tend to lean towards more vertical type watch designs. There is also the TD09004B which offers just about every component one could want from a fine timepiece (including portions constructed from sapphire crystal).

Now onto the entry rules.

Entering is very easy. We are offering three different ways to enter. Each one will count as a single entry:

1. Comment on this entry. What I want to hear is simple. Give us some feedback. It could be anything from letting us know what you think about our review process, letting us know what you would like to see more/less of, critiquing out tastes/pairings, or even letting Daniel know how much we’d really like to see him with a FU-MANCHU.
2. Sign up for our email newsletter located in the right hand column of every page. We don’t bombard you all with newsletters, we just use it as a way to let our readers know a new post is up. If you are already signed up, do nothing. We will count that as an entry.
3. Tweet the following message: “Enter to win an Orient Automatic watch from Casas Fumando – http://tinyurl.com/2flfpsw @tonycasas” Be sure to include the @tonycasas so I can pull that entry from the feed.

Sorry this contest is only for U.S. Residents only.

And that’s it! The winner will be chosen, and notified Sunday, August 15th at random. Good luck, and I can’t wait to read your responses.

Cool contest Tony and Daniel. I love the site – the review process is unique enough b/w the two of you that it’s fun to tune in to see which of you has reviewed the given cigar. Always enjoy info on the drink pairings (Tony, you’re drinks are as entertaining and interesting as the cigars).

Keep up the great work fellas.

Mathew – glad ya like them man. Next review will be paired with Grape Kool-aid… better yet, Purplesaurus Rex. You rememeber that? Seriously though, thanks for all the support man.

Boomer – I spent a good couple of hours going through the watches the other day. I’m a watch guy. Not a $12,000 watch guy like Skip by any means, but I do like a nice watch 🙂

Cool contest guys! I think you’ve done it before but what about trading some un-banded cigars for review?

  8. Tony Casas

    August 2, 2010 at 7:39 am

Keith – Yeah I think Daniel actually coordinated a whole blind review trade. I didn’t have the time to take part in that run, but he loves it. It’s totally something we’d look into doing again

Tony, what happened with the Live reviews? I saw one that Daniel made a while back, but haven’t seen any since.

Victor – I think Daniel is still going to be doing them. I try my hardest to keep my ugly mug away from the camera, although there was a protest a while back to get me in front of one. We’ll just have to see what happens, but they are still on!

I am actually watchless at the moment. Spend way to much cash on smokes to buy a watch. I really enjoy the reviews as they come off as not pretentious and formal. Very readable and great photos. Except for when Daniel’s face shows up…. 🙂

HAHA! Thanks Tadd. That is exactly what we aim for. We aren’t “cigar professionals”. Just a few guys who enjoy smoking and sharing out experiences.

I leave for a little while and you all just chew me up? lol, I’ll remember those people when sending out my next package of exploding cigars… hehe

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

Keith, I think I have 2 more unbanded/blind reviews to come up shortly so keep your eyes open.

Victor, I’ve been meaning to do another video review, so I guess I really need to get going on that again! lol

Keep the suggestions coming people, very helpful!

Hey guys , to start off , love your Cigar reviews. They really please my dad on selecting his Cigars.
I would like to make some critiques on your Cigar reviews. My father would like to read more about the
“Textures” of the Cigars inside your mouth. I didn’t understand this either until he answered and said basically , “more about the taste and the feelings.” I know you guys mention about the feelings but he wanted to read more , ya dig? Also making videos wouldn’t be too shabby , ehh?! That’ll be it for now , I don’t want to get too constructive. 🙂
As far as the FU-MANCHU goes , go for it!!! We would love to see Dan put it on!

Neat idea for a contest, guys! I think one thing I’d like to see would be blind review of smokes new to the market (i.e. stuff that is coming out at IPCPR, etc.). I feel like many times a blind review turns into a game of “let’s see if I guess what this stick is”. By doing a blind review on a new stick, you’re not distracted by trying to guess if you’ve had it before or not.
