An old Cuban cigar brand gained new life with the recent release of the Siboney Reserve by Aganorsa Leaf. In August 2019, Famous Smoke Shop announced the latest partnership with Aganorsa in the creation of this Cuban-Esque style cigar. Terrence Reilly of Aganorsa Leaf stated in the press release:

We wanted to create a blend that capture the elegance and style of classic Cuban Cigars. Covered in our finest Corojo 99 wrapper from Jalapa, Siboney Reserve is rich in flavor, complex, and balances with a subtle sweetness. It’s a cigar for those who crave old-world flavor and aroma.

Handmade in Nicaragua by Aganorsa Leaf, the cigar utilizes all Nicaraguan tobaccos sourced from Aganorsa farms. The cigar was introduced in four sizes including Lonsdale (6 by 44), Rothschild (4 1/2 by 48), Robusto (5 1/4 by 50), and Toro (6 by 52). Packaged in boxes of 10, the cigars will run you between $7.00 to $8.50.

THE FACTS

Price: $7.00
Vitola: Lonsdale
Size: 6 by 44
Wrapper: Nicaragua Corojo 99 Jalapa
Binder: Proprietary Nicaragua
Filler: Proprietary Nicaragua
Smoke Time: 1 Hour and 35 Minutes

PRE-LIGHT

The Siboney Reserve is dressed in a medium brown Nicaraguan Corojo 99 Jalapa wrapper that has tons of dark watermarkings. There are some veins and bumps on the wrapper leaf but, to the touch, the cigar feels crazy smooth. The cigar is firmly rolled with a couple of indentations.

A strong chicken coop aroma emits from the wrapper. A more subtle aroma comes across from the foot of the cigar with notes of cedar, manure, chocolate, and pepper. The draw has more resistance than preferred and my palate is met with cold draw flavors similar to those from the foot.

FIRST THIRD

A sweet tobacco provides a nice opening to the Siboney Reserve. The sweetness is followed by a combination of wood and earth. The sweetness backsoff as the cigar warms up. There is a mild pepper flavor on the palate, but, the pepper really pops in both flavor and spice heat as I retrohale the smoke. The filler tobaccos are burning quicker than the wrapper requiring a touch-up.

MIDDLE THIRD

Into the second third, the flavors are balanced and harmonizing well. I am still able to identify the individual flavors as they form into a wonderful bouquet on the palate. The sweetness moves in waves and, combined with the pepper, is keeping me fully engaged. Even though the flavors are only hoovering in the medium range, there is a bit more strength than I would have expected.

FINAL THIRD

The final third of the Siboney Reserve shows a transition in the wood flavor to more of dry pencil shavings. The darker flavors move forward with the earth and pepper playing a a more dominant role. A yeasty flavor develops as I near the end of the cigar. An edgy burn in the final third makes one more touch-up necessary before I close it out.

WRAP-UP

My experience with Cuban cigars is limited to say the least. So I cannot say if the Siboney Reserve is Cuban-Esque or not. But I can say I enjoyed this cigar from the first light to final puff. The medium profile delivered a well rounded profile primarily of wood, earth, shifting sweetness, and pepper. A little bit of strength sneaks up on you with the Siboney Reserve. Just enough to get put you in a relaxed state of mind. This is a great cigar that I highly recommend.

-Tony

Since 2012, Camacho Cigars has teamed up with NFL Hall of Famer Mike Ditka to produce a line of cigars bearing his name. One of those lines, the Ditka Signature, was introduced in 2014. The cigar features a Honduran Criollo wrapper, but differs from Camacho’s core line Criollo by utilizing a different blend, which includes a Nicaraguan grown Corojo binder. The Ditka Signature comes in five sizes – Robusto 5 x 50, Toro 6 x 50, Churchill 7 x 48, Figurado 6 1/8 x 42 x 54, and Gordo 6 x 60 – with prices running from $8 to $10 per cigar, in boxes of 20.

The Basics:

Wrapper: Honduran Criollo
Binder: Nicaraguan Corojo ‘99
Filler: Dominican Republic
Size: Toro 6 x50
Price: $8.50
Smoking time: One hour, forty minutes
Pairing: Lagunitas Undercover Investigation Shut-down Ale (ABV 9.6%)

The Camacho Ditka Signature comes draped in a medium brown wrapper, mottled throughout with darker spots, a number of fine veins, and a lightly oily sheen and feel. The nearly seamless roll is a bit spongy with a few firmer areas. The band of the Ditka Signature features a dark metallic blue (though it appears nearly black in lower light situations) on silver color scheme as a nod to his tenure with the Dallas Cowboys, with Ditka’s signature appearing in white. I kind of wish they had used a lighter blue, but hey, it’s just a band. All in all, it makes for a pretty handsome presentation, and thankfully, eschews the gigantic bands of many other Camacho cigars.

The scent off of the wrapper evokes tart, earthy barnyard, and spice, while the foot adds nice rich tobacco to the mix.

After an easy and shallow snip of the cap, an airy draw shows sweet cedar and spices.

First third:

The first few puffs of the Camacho Ditka Signature don’t give up a whole lot of smoke volume, but a quick hit with my trusty $2.70 Chinese-made torch gets it up and running, pumping out a nice amount of sweet cedar and cooking spice laden smoke. Those flavors are backed up by natural tobacco, light earth, and a moderate amount of pepper. The retrohale emphasizes both the earthiness and pepper. By the ¾” mark, the sweetness has backed off some, and the tobacco, wood, and earth have all deepened. The burn, meanwhile, has been trailing on one side and I have opted to give it a correction. Despite the touch-up, the light and medium gray ash holds on for over an inch, as the sweet woodiness moves back to the forefront. By the end of the first third, the pepper has taken a huge step back and the texture of the smoke has smoothed out considerably, with the body at low/medium and little nicotine felt.

Middle third:

The Camacho Ditka Signature rolls into its 2nd third with a slight uptick in intensity and pepper bite, with all of the other elements maintaining their places. The sweetness ebbs and flows, at times turning powdery, and near the end of this section, a bit of astringency creeps in. At this point, the cigar has hit the solid medium mark, with just a slight amount of nicotine strength.

Final third:

The last third of the Camacho Ditka Signature continues to present the same flavor profile, but in a more ramped up package. That’s not a bad thing at all, as those flavors have been enjoyable. It remains consistent down to the end, smoking cool and firm to the nub, winding up at just north of medium and at low/medium strength.

Overview:

The Camacho Ditka Signature is not the most complex smoke around, but that’s not a knock on it, since the flavors were well defined and well coordinated. The construction was great, and while it required a few touch-ups along the way, none of them were major and actually resulted in an uplifting of flavor. As an aside, the burn properties may have been affected by my humidor conditions, as the changing weather around here seems to be playing tricks on it. All in all, this is a solid cigar bearing a reasonable price tag, and is worthy of picking up a handful to keep around for a relaxing smoke.

Pairing:

Tony and I are both big fans of Lagunitas, as this brewery puts out a terrific variety of beers. The Undercover Investigation Shut-down Ale is an American strong ale that features sweet maltiness, some smokiness, and pruney dried fruit in a medium mouthfeel and firm balancing bitterness. These characteristics all played very well with the Camacho Ditka Signature, complementing the existent flavors of the cigar, while adding great balancing flavors. The Ditka Signature, however, is a cigar that can hold its own with a number of beverages, such as a dark Belgian ale or nice sweet Imperial IPA, Highland single malt Scotch, smooth bourbon, or a fruity aged rum.

Despite the flooding and rain out here, today is relatively cool and sunny. To celebrate the break in weather I decided to relax outside with a Crowned Heads Las Meras and a bottle of Deep Ellum’s Wealth and Taste.

The Good Stuff:

Las Mareas is the newest full-production line released by the Crowned Heads this year at the IPCPR show in Las Vegas. While a very, very limited pre-release run trickled into a very few stores last year, it wasn’t until this year that the line was finalized. Once again the Crowned Heads turn to the My Father factory to create this blend for them. The blend utilizes a Nicaraguan Corojo 99 wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and Nicaraguan fillers.

The Cigar Federation site includes this description:

The Crowned Heads, Las Mareas, or “The Tides”, is a unique cigar which was inspired by the surf culture that Jon Huber experienced while in Hawaii. It is a regular production cigar, released at IPCPR 2016 and uses a Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper.

It is a Nicaraguan puro made at the My Father Cigar factory. While it is nothing new to be made here, it is the first time Crowned Heads has used a wrapper, binder AND filler, all grown by the Garcias.

Las Mareas comes in 4 sizes, the Tuberia (4.5 x 48), the Rebeldes (5 x 52), The Olas (6.125 x 46), and the Ciclopes (6 x 54) which all come packaged in boxes of 20 ranging between $8.25 and $10.25 a stick. I purchased a handful of these from the boys over at Cigar Federation.

Size: 4.5 x 48

Prelight:

Las Mareas is a cigar that looks like it has had better days. The wrapper is a medium brown with lots of scattered orange, and darker brown splotches. There are a good amount of medium sized veins and lots of natural webbing in the tobacco lead. All in all, it’s a rustic looking thing. The texture is slightly toothy with a good amount of oil. The wrapper is normal density while the cigar is a bit on the softer side especially around the foot of the area. The Las Mareas slender body leads up to a round, double cap that looks a bit loose on quite a few of the cigars I purchased. The cigar is polished off with a great looking black and white band with the “Las Mareas” crest embossed across the front.

The wrapper of the Las Mareas gives off a bit of a salty, cashew aroma while the foot of the cigar carries a good amount of spice, cedar, and natural tobacco scents. The cap cut clean and easily using my Xikar double bladed cutter despite my hesitation on clipping the cap due to how loose it was applied. No issues there. The cold draw is nice and spicy with some pepper, honey, salt, and natural tobacco flavors.

First Third:

Despite the spice and pepper I picked up during the cold draw, the Las Mareas started out with neither. Instead, I was greeted with some great honey, cedar, leather, and floral flavors with a bit of saltiness left on my lips. The body starts out in the medium range. The draw is perfect. Each little puff releases a great amount of thick, gray smoke which hangs around for quite some time while the cigar itself gives off very little stationary smoke as it rests in my ashtray. The burning is even for the most part and razor thin leaving behind a trail of medium/light gray ash which held on for an inch before falling in my ashtray.

Second Third:

Into the second third of the Las Mareas and the flavors have started to ramp up a bit, while staying pretty consistent. The cigar still leads with honey and cedar backed by leather and floral flavors while some interesting apple started to sneak it’s way in. The retrohale is about as easy as it gets while it coats my nasal passage with strong cedar, and even some sweetness that I otherwise don’t really pick up in the smoking experience. The burn line is still even and razor thin while I close out the second third with absolutely no signs of nicotine.

Finish:

The flavors have continued to ramp up into the final third of the Las Mareas as the cigar now sits firmly in the medium/full bodied category. The cedar and honey are still leading the charge and I’m very impressed that the honey is still there. Usually cigars that carry a honey flavor begin to dwindle out very quickly. The backing flavors are still a bit of apple, floral, and leather. I smoked this cigar down until it was burning the tips of my fingers. It took me an hour and a half and I experienced absolutely no harshness or extended heat, nor did I once have to reach for my torch for any extra burn attention.

Overview:

Don’t let the looks of the Las Mareas fool you, this cigar preformed like a dream. Considering this was made by the hands of My Father Cigars, I was caught off guard. I was expecting more spicy, bold flavors while I was pleasantly surprised with something the closely resembles what we would expect from a Cuban cigar experience. The subtle nuances in flavors, slight change ups, with a very enjoyable body made for a wonderful smoke and something I could really see myself smoking very often. It’s a great cigar for those who often smoke Cuban cigars, those who are more experienced cigar smokers looking for a great milder cigar with a great body, or even the novice cigar smoker looking to getting into something premium that one, won’t break the bank and two, won’t kick their ass with strength and body. I’m really glad this is going into the Crowned Head’s full production portfolio as it’s a cigar that I plan on picking up quite often.

Pairing:

Brewed at the Deep Ellum Brewery in Dallas, Texas the Wealth and Taste is a 10.5% Belgian style golden ale aged in American oak barrels, then matures more in French Chardonnay oak barrels, before finishing it’s fermentation with Texas-friendly viognier white wine grapes. That’s a hell of a journey. The beer starts out with a great splash of sweetness, white grape and apple and floral flavors with a soft hop and a light mouthfeel before finishing crisp with more apple and sweetness, floral flavors, slight malt, and a little bit of bitterness. The flavors in the Wealth and Taste married up perfectly with the Las Mareas while adding a bit of sweetness that was absent in the smoke. This pairing was wonderful, and I knew it was going down almost instantly when I smoked my first Las Mareas.

After living in 20 degree weather for the last week, El Paso has shot back up into the 70s where it belongs. Taking advantage of the weather I decided to spend my time this weekend out back with a Warped Cigars Futuro and a bottle of Sierra Nevada’s Barrel-Aged Narwhal.

The Good Stuff:

The Futuro is a cigar created by Warped Cigars in collaboration with Casa Fernandez with one goal in mind: to create a cigar unlike anything either of the two manufacturers have ever created in the past. Kyle Gellis of Warped Cigars and Max Fernandez of Casa Fernandez have been working together at the Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A (TABSA) for a while now, but this is the first blend that they jointly blended together. The blend utilizes 100% Aganorsa leaf from the Casa Fernandez Aganorsa farms. The tobacco used in the blend comes straight from the TABSA vault which contains their most prized material. The blend features a Nicaraguan Corojo ’99 wrapper, Nicaraguan Criollo ’98 Binder and Nicaraguan Criollo ’98 and Corojo ’99 fillers. The Warped Futuro comes in only two sizes which fit the creators’ own personal preference: the 109 (6 x 52) and the Suprema (5.6 x 46) which range run $9.25 and $8.75 respectively and both sizes come packaged in boxes of 20. This particular cigar was a gift from a good friend Jason while he was over last week celebrating some time with Jeremy while he was in town.

Prelight:

The Warped Cigar Futuro starts out with a gorgeous, insanely consistent, medium brown wrapper. The color is as close to exact throughout the entire cigar as you can get. The texture of the wrapper is some slight tooth and a little roughness, lots of oil, with an overall silky feeling to the touch. The wrapper leaf is laid seamlessly and there are only some very minor veins running thought the cigar’s body which leads up to a nubby almost half-belicoso style cap. The Futuro feels real dense, and tightly packed with tobacco while the wrapper is decently dense with only a bit of softness around the foot of the cigar. The cigar is then polished off with a gorgeous, modern-old-timey style gold, royal blue, and red band which carries the “Futuro 2015” crest on the front, with the creators’ “KG” and “MF” initials on each side.

The wrapper gives off almost no aroma outside of a slight tobacco while the foot carries a lot of sweetness, spice, and earthiness. The cap cut very clean and easily using my Palio double bladed cutter. The cold draw produces some great sweet cedar, oak, spice, and gingerbread style flavors.

First Third:

Lighting the Futuro was cake using my Dupont single flame butane torch. The Futuro starts out with only some very light, extremely mild pepper which faded after the first puff or two. The main flavor profile leads with a great sweet cedar, cinnamon, gingerbread, soft tobacco, with a great oaky aftertaste. I absolutely love the flavor profile thats developing here. Each tiny puff kicks out a massive cloud of thick white smoke while the Futuro gives off a decent amount of stationary smoke as it rests in my ashtray. The burn line is razor thin, and dead even leaving behind a tightly compacted trail of white and medium gray ash which held on for a little over an inch before giving way.

Second Third:

As I smoke into the second third of the Futuro the pepper that disappeared in the first third has started to work it’s way, subtly, back into the flavor profile. The profile still leads with really sweet cedar, cinnamon and spice, tobacco, and just a pinch of cocoa. The retrohale really showcases the cedar as well as the spice. The burn line is still dead even and razor thin. I close out the second third with absolutely nothing in the nicotine department.

Finish:

So far the only complain I have about the Futuro is the amount of sap build up it’s been producing. A bit of clip, and slowing down my smoking speed has cleared that right up. The flavor profile is much the same, and I am totally ok with that. The Futuro leads with strong, sweet, cedar backed by cocoa, spice, cinnamon, and some really nice brown sugar. It took me about 2 hours to take this cigar down to the nub and I experience absolutely no harshness, or heat buildup, however I do recommend taking your time with it as the sap does tend to seep in when you rush through it. The burn line was solid all the way through and I never once had to reach for my torch to relight or touch the cigar up. I close out the cigar feeling almost zilch in terms of nicotine.

Overview:

This was my introduction to Warped cigars and if the Futuro is any indication as to how solid their blends are, it won’t be my last. The cigar’s flavor profile is incredible, the smoking experience was near perfect outside of the sap which was probably my fault to begin with, and the price point is more than reasonable. This is a box worthy cigar for sure and really can’t wait to try out some of their other offerings.

Pairing:

Sierra Nevada’s Narwhal is a beer that finds it’s way into my rotation every year. This year, I was able to score a few bottles of their Barrel-Aged variant. Brewed at the Sierra Nevada Brewery in California, this Imperial Stout rocks a modest 12.9% ABV. The Narwhal leads with great milk chocolate, malt, oak, and sweetness with a heavy mouthfeel before finishing very sweet with chocolate, espresso, oak, and more malt with a great amount of bourbon. This was a great pairing. This cigar has sweet bourbon pairing written all over it, but since I’m not a bourbon guy a barrel aged beer is my closest bet.

The Good Stuff:

The Illusione ~eccj~ 20th is the bigger brother of a cigar with the same name that was originally released in 2008 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the “European Cigar Cult Journal” magazine. As the name suggests, the ~eccj~ 20th was released this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the same magazine which now goes by the much simpler name “Cigar Journal”. Going back to the original ~eccj~, this blend was very limited and only available through New Havana Cigars. The cigar was such a success that Dion Giolito, owner of Illusione cigars later released the blend under the name “Epernay” as a full production cigar and one of my favorites, if not my favorite Illusione lines to date.

The Illusione ~eccj~ 20th was showcased last year at the IPCPR show in Las Vegas, and released during January of this year. Created at the TABSA factory in Nicaragua, the blend features a Nicaraguan Corojo 99 wrapper, Nicaraguan Binder, Nicaraguan Criollo 98 and Nicaraguan Corojo 99 fillers. The ~eccj~ is only offered in one size, 6 1/4 x 48 which comes packaged in boxes of 15 running $13 a sick. While only 4,500 cigars from the original ~eccj~ cigar were released, 30,000 ~eccj~ 20th are available and sold by retailers throughout the US. I got a handful of these from out good friends over at Fox Cigar Bar in Gilbert, Arizona.

Size: 6 1/4 x 48
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo 99
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan Criollo 98, Nicaraguan Corojo 99
Body: Full
Strength: Medium/Full
Price: $13
Pairing: Brouwerij Bosteels Tripel Karmeliet (Tripel 8.4% ABV)

Prelight:

The Illusione ~eccj~ is a beautiful cigar. The ~eccj~ starts out with an absolutely gorgeous, consistent, medium brown, silky wrapper. The wrapper’s texture is very smooth with only some very slight tooth, and slight oil with a few larger veins running through the cigar’s body up to the round triple cap. The wrapper itself feels a bit thin and delicate while the body of the cigar is really heavy and jam-packed with tobacco. There was some softer areas around the foot of the cigar but nothing really concerning. The cigar is polished off with the same elegant band found on the Epernay and past ~eccj~ blend. It’s small, simple, and pearl white with the word “~eccj~” embossed with gold ink in the front, and “Illusione” very small in the back. Again, these are some of my favorite bands out there. They’re simple, and put all the focus on the cigar instead of the design on the band.

The wrapper gives off a strong honey and tobacco aroma while the foot of the cigar is much more modest only showcasing some slight spice and earthiness. The cap cut clean and easily using my double bladed Palio cutter. The cold draw is very floral with notes of grain and tobacco with some very subtle spice mixed in there.

First Third:

The Illusione ~eccj~ starts out with a quick splash of black pepper laced with spice, honey, cedar, sweetness, leather and floral notes. Despite the cigar being jam-packed with tobacco the draw is flawless. Each little puff kicks out massive clouds of thick white smoke while the ~eccj~ gives off almost no stationary smoke as it rests in my ashtray. The burn line is dead even and razor thin leaving behind a nice trail of compacted white and dark gray zebra-patterned ash which held on for about an inch and a quarter before falling into my ashtray.

Second Third:

A whole mess of sweetness and spice have emerged into the second third of the Illusione ~eccj~. Along with the sweetness and spice the honey and floral are still rocking hard backed by cedar, and leather as well as some great earthiness. There is no shortness of flavor in this bad boy. The retrohale showcases a much heavier spice and pepper with deep cedar and honey. The burn line is still flawless and I’m not really feeling anything in the nicotine department as I close out the second third.

Finish:

A bit of citrus and pine snuck into the flavor profile in the final third of this Illusione ~eccj~. Along with those additions, the cigar still offered bold cedar and spice with honey and sweetness. I’m impressed that a lot of the flavors had lasted this deep into the experience, and were just as bold as they were at the beginning of the smoke. It took me a little over an hour and half to take the ~eccj~ down to the nub and I experienced absolutely no harshness, nor really anything nicotine kick. In fact, the cigar finished off very creamy and smooth as I let it burn down until my finger tips were on fire. I never once had to touch up, or relight.

Overview:

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. If I was forced to smoke only one brand for the rest of my life it would have to be Illusione. The ~eccj~ is a great example of an absolutely great cigar experience. The bold, complex, yet complimentary flavors provide an amazing profile with great construction and flawless burned all delivered at a decent price point. Yes, it’s one of the more expensive cigars in Illusione’s portfolio but it more than satisfies and I’d pay it time and time again. While the ~eccj~ is limited, it’s still widely available and this is a box-worthy purchase for sure as it would hold a place in my regular rotation for a very long time.

Pairing:

Being that I am huge on Belgian beers, one of my favorite summer styles is a nice, heavy, tripel. Brewed at the Brouwerij Bosteels in Belgium, the Tripel Karmeliet clocks in at a bold 8.4% ABV. The Tripel Karmeliet starts out with some nice fruit, celery, honey, sweetness and floral flavors with a light mouthfeel before finishing crisp with citrus, floral, and pine and a bit of tart on the aftertaste. The beer’s flavors obviously married up well with the floral, citrus, and honey in the Illusione ~eccj~ while the spice and cedar from the cigar added a new level to the beer. I would also recommend pairing the ~eccj~ with a nice Belgian Dubbel or Quad, a spicy tawny port, or a great cup of dark coffee.

Ernesto Perez Carrillo has been the source of some massively popular blends over the course of the last few years. From the work he does with his company EP Carrillo to the blends he created with the guys over at Crowned Heads it seems everything he touches turns to gold. Each year EP Carrillo has released a limited or short run series since creating EP Carrillo cigars. A few of those limited runs that we have reviewed are the Edicion Inagural 2009, 2010 Short Run, 2010 Short run No. 4, and the 2012 Short Run. Doing something a little different they decided to produce the 2014 Short Run as a spinoff of the popular Inch series. Where as many of the other Short Run series only came in one format, the 2014 Inch short run will come in 3, The 60: 5 7/8 x 60, The 62: 5 x 62, and the 64: 6 1/4 x 64. They will come in boxes of 24 with a total of 1,500 boxes of each size produced. Big thanks to the EPC team for sending the samples used for this review my way.

Prelight: Man this sucker is huge. I am not one for larger ring gauged cigars. The cigar feels really heavy and really wonky in my hand. I can’t even fathom how uncomfortable the 64 might be. Outside of the size the Inch Short Run carries an absolutely beautiful, thick, medium brown wrapper with a few dark splotches scattered throughout the body. This cigar carries a bit of tooth and a whole mess of oil. The wrapper gives off nothing more than a slight cedar aroma while the foot of the cigar carries only some light tobacco and a bit of spice. The Inch Short Run is polished off with the standard Inch band that I love so much and the addition of a secondary black and gold 2014 Short Run band.

Flavors: I was greeted with a very mild black pepper as I lit up the Inch Short Run. The pepper faded rather quickly and there was a mild cedar, earthiness, and slight spice underneath. As I continued to smoke the inch the spice started to drop out and I was left with nothing but some mild cedar and earthiness mixed in with tobacco. I know it may sound a bit generic, but as much as I tried to reach I couldn’t pick up much more than that until the final “inch” where a bit of harshness began to move in. It wasn’t bad, I just wish there was more to it.

Burn/Draw: This is one area the Inch Short Run really excelled. The burn line was razor sharp, and dead even the entire experience. Usually, I have issues early in with wavy burn lines with larger ring gauged cigars, but this burned absolutely flawless from start to finish. The ash was very solid and held on for about two inches before falling into my ashtray with a “clunk”. The draw was beautiful. Each little puff filled my mouth with thick, white smoke.

Thoughts: Needless to say, I wasn’t blown away by the Inch Short Run 2014. The construction, burn, and draw were all remarkable and that what really makes for a great cigar. On the more subjective side this cigar really failed to deliver in the flavor arena. The flavors were muffled, bland, and pretty one dimensional. To put a spin on that, this cigar may be a great stick for someone who enjoys very mild experiences while I don’t see myself adding any more of these to my current rotation.
