Anyways, thanks as always for the read Dan. I always love reading reviews and comment from you. You seem to have your own take on cigars and a pallet that differs from mine, making your reviews that much more interesting. I wasn’t too impressed with the HL to be honest with you, but I have a few that I’ll have to try again once I get a bit more age on them. As far as the MK? That cigar kicks massive amounts of ass. Extremely well balanced.

I can’t wait to try the HL in maduro when the hit the shelves in a few weeks. It’ll be interesting to see Dion’s take on Maduro.

nice work guys! I have a box of the 88s that I’m working through, and very happy with. I still think the MK and the HL are my fav of dion’s, better than the epernay IMO. but to each there own.

I agree, the epernay is dynamote and first chair in the Illusione band for me. I love the 888 as well but I tend to smoke more of the 88 just for the simple fact that its a much quicker smoke. I usually smoke on short drives too and from work, or in the passenger seat of the wive’s car.

Great review guys.

This is another winner from Dion. Daniel yours had about a year or so of age. I understand where Mike is coming from with the 888, but the reason I dont but those quite as often is that they tend to have more burn/draw problems for me. But they taste incredible.

Im a big Epernay fan, but it is definitely much more subtly than his regular stuff.

The Epernay will always have a soft spot in my heart. What is your favoritre size Mike? I was on a Epernay kick last week and had every size except La Elegance. I found i liked the Pettit best with an almost tie for the Ferme.

I like the 88 but am still in love with the 888 that you sent my way! I am going to try and grab some more Epernay next time i can find a store that has them and might pick up an 88 or 2 to see if my opinion changed.

Awesome. I think the double team review was cool. Good work guys. Again I am annoyed at being in Germany where I can’t go pick up singles of stogies I want to try. Illusione is certainly one of the brands on my Must Try list, Will have to order a sampler. And since I am a die hard fan of Drew Estates I gotta track down a Nosotros or two to try. Keep it up man!

They are the same blend as far as I know just different vitolas.

If you don’t run into one don’t worry, you are pretty much smoking one every time you light up a Le Ferme (at least IMO).

I think they were the same blend, or at least similar. I know the Epernay replaced the ECCJ, but I’m not sure on what changed, if anything.

Sadly, I never got to try the ECCJ, but I’m sure I’ll run into a few through a trade or something sooner or later 🙂

For the Epernay’s I would agree, the Le Ferme has my vote.

To tell you the truth, I am not sure I can taste a difference between the Le Ferme and the ECCJ (the precursor to the Epernay line).

I can’t wait either. Should be another 6 weeks for the maduro HL, we recieved a shipment recently at my local shop and the wrappers were massively darker than what I was used to seeing on the HL. Got me pretty excited, but Dion confirmed that the last batch of HL’s and 888’s came out really dark. Alas, back to the waiting game.

The Epernay is my favorite of all the cigars he has produced. I have had the Le Monde, and as good as it was, my favorite vitola (oddly) is still the Pettit or the ferme.

Nice dual review of an excellent cigar!

I am a fan of many Illusione lines and the 88 is no exception.

Right now I have to say the Holy Lance and the Epernay lines are the ones that have my current attention from Illusione. The Le Ferme and La Monde are excellent and if you can find one, the ECCJs are smoking really well right now.

Look out for the Holy Lance coming soon in Maduro and Candela…

I know I can’t wait!
