Fuente for knowing how to create a great cigar. I’ve been through boxes of Opus X, double robusto, robusto and the power house Perfecxion #4. all have been of high quality craftsmanship, great burn, near prefect draw and great amounts of flavor packed smoke. My only complaint is to much glue is used on the band of the Perfecxion #4. I stopped trying to remove them until the burn was right at the band and this seemed to heat the glue enough to loosen it up a bit. Still less glue would be better. The reviewer did a fine job of explaining the complexities of this little power house of a cigar. A bold Arabica bean coffee such as Gevalia makes the prefect companion beverage and I would not use any form of alcohol for the reason of not wanting my taste buds dulled or desensitized whereby depriving me of the complex flavors coming out of the prefecxion #4. I can’t say enough great things about the Opus X line and right now it’s a toss up as to whether it’s the double robusto or the power house Perfecxion #4 receiving my hightest praise. For the first time sampler of the Perfecxion #4 I recommend you eat first then cleanse your palate so as to maximize your sense of taste. On a 1 to 10 I’ll give the Perfecxion #4 a 9.5 and if Fuente will reduce the amount of glue used on the band I’ll revise that rating to a 10.

The price on the Opus X, on the other hand, is just too much. With so many great cigars out there for half the price, I think I’ll pass on buying another.

Yeah its kinda sad, but I guess it’s the price you pay for a luxury band. This one actually started to go out on me a bit, so I started puffing away and it regained it’s burn. I figured it was just me babysitting the cigar so I didn’t mention it in the review 🙂

I don’t think I’ve ever had a Opus band come off completely clean… Its a pretty heavy duty paper they use too.

lately I’ve had a run of bad luck with the burn on these bad boys… Can’t seem to keep em’ lit…but when the do burn they are great smokes.

Thanks man. I was telling Daniel earlier. It’s the fine details (such as band and glue work) that can really make or break an experience. With the price point what it is, you would think they would offer a higher quality on items such as these. Especially since it wasn’t a one time deal.

I’ve only had three Opus X cigars & while I enjoyed them, I agree that the price point is a little steep in comparison to the experience.
